Aftermath of the match: “The game was in line with what we expected. Benfica started well, with some demerit for us. From then on, the team closed spaces and prevented Benfica’s connections down the corridor. We never stopped trying to get ahead, but it wasn’t easy. The second half saw a change in the Benfica team and it brought some surprises, from one moment to the next they changed the game, but we remained compact. We ended up taking a penalty, which doesn’t matter if it was or not.”
Proud despite defeat: “It makes me proud to see that the team went in search of the result. I leave a word to all the players who entered and we are proud of our response. We are sad not to take points from here, which was our objective. We want to be competitive, whatever the field and against whatever opponent.”
Well done display: “Create a demanding culture in which we try to grow every day. No one is forced to win, we have to play to win. They are different things. The team is available and the loyalty is huge on the part of all the players. Against a very good opponent, we were able to play the whole game. In addition to being ambitious, the team understands the game.”
