UA year after leaving for Fenerbahçe, in exchange for a fee of around 22.5 million euros, Kerem Akturkoglu continues to ‘fatten’ Benfica’s coffers, due to the achievement of objectives that, in the best case scenario, could result in total revenue reaching 25 million euros.
According to information provided this Friday by Turkish journalist Yagız Sabuncuoglu, on the YouTube channel ‘KAFA Sports‘, the 28-year-old player will have activated two more awards, one for reaching 30 direct goals, and the other for playing for the club in the Champions League.
Each of these bonuses amounts to 500 thousand euros, which means that, after all, the management led by Rui Costa guaranteed a financial contribution of one million euros, making the total turnover of this operation reach 23.5 million euros, leaving only 1.5 million euros to be fulfilled.
The goal of 30 direct actions for a goal was reached on October 17th, when he scored and scored, in the categorical victory achieved over Alanyaspor (a team coached by Portuguese coach João Pereira), at the Sukru Sracoglu Stadium, by 3-0, in a game counting for the eighth round of the national championship.
The presence in what is the biggest club competition in European football took place on September 10th, when Ismail Kartal (who, in the meantime, was fired from his position and replaced by the interim Dirk Kuyt) was placed in the starting line-up in the 1-1 draw against AS Roma (by Rodrigo Mora), in the opening round.
Akturkoglu’s route
Born in İzmit, Kerek Akturkoglu took his first steps in the world of football with Basaksehir, who let him leave, in 2018, for Karacabey Belediyespor, at ‘zero cost’, after an unhappy loan to Bodrumsport, in which he scored just four times, after 28 games.
In 2019, he left for 24 Erzincanspor, and, the following year, for Galatasaray, where he managed, once and for all, to put into practice all the potential that was recognized in him, adding 46 goals and 33 assists in a total of 179 games, and contributing to the achievement of three national champion titles and a Turkish Super Cup.
The good performances did not go unnoticed by Benfica, who came forward to ‘rescue’ him, for around 13 million euros. At the Estádio da Luz, he was used in 58 matches, scoring 17 goals and setting up another 11, before returning to Turkey to reinforce Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray’s eternal rival.
The first season of this return ‘home’ was largely productive, with 15 goals and ten assists. The second has also taken on positive aspects, as she has already scored a goal once, and has left the ball for her teammates’ goals on a total of five occasions so far.
