TThree days after Famalicenses eliminated Braga from the League Cup, after a 2-2 draw and a 3-1 victory in the penalty shoot-out, Ricardo Silva rejected any advantage due to the fact that the two teams would face each other again in such a short space of time.
“There is neither an advantage nor a disadvantage. It’s an atypical context, it doesn’t happen very often,” he said.
The coach expects, however, a different context from that found on Thursday.
“We arrived there as the team that stole something that they feel was theirs. If I were on that side, I would have the feeling that today is the day to return joy to our fans. I’m waiting for a combative team that is very determined to win”, he highlighted, guaranteeing that Famalicão will also correct aspects of the first duel.
Ricardo Silva also revealed that his role as interim coach could be extended, ensuring that he is in “perfect harmony” with the president of SAD, Miguel Ribeiro.
“This interim registration will probably last until the president and I, and more in this case the president, understand that there is a path and a decision to make”, he explained, adding that Mathias de Amorim, who was injured against Sporting de Braga, could be available.
Sporting de Braga, ninth placed, with 11 points, receives Famalicão, 11th, with 10, on Sunday, at 8:30 pm, at the Braga Municipal Stadium, in a match for the 10th round of the I Portuguese Football League, which will be refereed by David Silva, from the Porto association.
