THE Benfica had to change the pieces of the puzzle at half-time to be able to open the scoring, this Monday night, against Alverca.
The moment that unlocked the match ended up arriving in the 51st minute, when Claudio Echeverri – launched by Marco Silva at half-time to replace Andreas Schjelderup – was ‘swept’ in the Alverca penalty area, by his captain Sergi Gómez.
When converting the penalty, Vangelis Pavlidis did not tremble and shot to open the scoring at Estádio da Luz.
