Leandro Silva opened the scoring in the 36th minute, also sealing at that moment the final result of the game that allows Académica to add three more points and guarantee the best possible start for the home games counting for the II League championship.
Académica remains at the top of the championship, with six points, while Feirense drops to tenth place in the II Football League.
The teams’ entry onto the field was marked by balance, belonging to Feirense, after ten minutes and following a corner, the first shot with real potential for a goal.
Until half-time, Mário Nunes’ team did not create much danger again and only through set pieces were they able to force Académica’s defense to work harder.
The Coimbra team, who played their first home game today on their return to the II League, created the first major threat in the 16th minute, with a shot directly at the body of the goalkeeper, Diego Altube, and with a second shot, a reload, which ended up missing the goal.
In the last quarter of an hour of the first half, Académica increased the pressure, with Martim Tavares (33) heading the ball over the bar and, three minutes later, Leandro Silva (36) scoring the only goal of the game.
Académica ended the first half at a numerical disadvantage, with the expulsion of Kaká (40) and, after the break and with the advantage on the scoreboard, António Babosa reinforced the defense with the entry of Hélder Lopes, to the detriment of Martim Tavares.
The numerical difference was not noticeable and the balance between the formations marked the entire second half, with both teams looking for the goal, but without being able to create any real danger near the goal, despite both sides trying, Diego Altube and Carlos Alves, mainly in compensation, held the result.
Game held at the Cidade de Coimbra Stadium, in Coimbra.
