THE coach of Académico de Viseu said today that the team is focused on gaining points in the reception to Rio Ave, but without euphoria, after five consecutive victories preceding the 10th round of the I Football League.
“The focus is on the process. Even the players did not experience any of the euphoria that, naturally, the fans experienced, after the victory with Sporting. We are aware, especially because the championship is still at the beginning, not even a third of it has been completed”, said Bruno Pinheiro.
The technician added that the group is “hardworking” and is “motivated and very focused on the task”, and the results have been “a consequence of this focus and this desire to work” every day.
Bruno Pinheiro was speaking at the press conference previewing the game on matchday 10, with Rio Ave, which will take place at the Estádio Municipal do Fontelo, in Viseu, on Sunday, starting at 6:00 pm.
A team that, according to Bruno Pinheiro, will be “difficult to steal the ball”, due to the mobility of its players.
According to the head coach of Académico de Viseu, and taking into account Rio Ave’s position in the table, close to the relegation zone, the opponent will enter Fontelo “trying everything to reach victory” and has “many players with individual quality”.
“We have felt, in recent times, some adaptations on the part of the opponents to try to counter our passing the ball, so I’m not so sure about what they will do defensively. Offensively, I believe they will maintain the dynamics of the midfielders and full-backs”, he projected.
In this sense, he argued that his athletes must “be quick to identify the opponent’s game” and “find the appropriate solutions to reach the end with goals and points scored”.
Académico de Viseu, which has 17 points and occupies sixth place, will host Rio Ave on Sunday, at 6pm, which has seven points and remains in 16th place, in a game refereed by João Gonçalves, from the Porto association.
