THE Early this Wednesday morning, Sporting turned to social media to publish an emotional farewell video to Rui Borges, who ended up not being able to resist a start to the 2026/27 sports season that was below expectations.
“He left us memories in green and white that we will never forget. Thank you for everything, Mister Rui Borges”, wrote the green and white emblem, at a time when the announcement of his successor, Paulo Fonseca, acquired from Olympique Lyon, in exchange for five million euros, has been waiting for hours.
