THE American Ryan Caswell is the new president of Moreirense’s SAD, replacing compatriot Tim Bezbatchenko, the Minho team, from the Portuguese First Football League, said today in a statement on the official website.
Member of the board of directors of the Black Knight Football Club (BKFC) fund, which has held the majority of the capital of the ‘canons’ SAD since June 2025 – the percentage is 66.67% -, Caswell was directly involved in the acquisition and investment processes of the group’s clubs, in this case the English club Bournemouth, the French team Lorient, the Scottish team Hibernian and the New Zealand club Auckland FC.
“Ryan Caswell will continue the work on developing the club’s sporting and institutional project, in close coordination with its management structure and the other clubs in the group. His intervention will be linked to the global strategy, financial management, infrastructure development and the promotion of synergies between the different structures of BKFC”, says the statement.
Connected to the areas of investment and corporate finance for more than 20 years, the American has been, since May 2025, executive director of Cannae Holdings, an investment company based in Las Vegas, with ties to Bill Foley, founder of BKFC in 2022, having also worked at Trasimene Capital, BofA Securities and Bear Stearns.
“Moreirense Futebol Clube – Futebol, SAD wishes Ryan Caswell the greatest success at the beginning of this new cycle, reaffirming the ambition to continue developing a solid and sustainable project, faithful to the club’s identity and its sporting and institutional aspirations”, completes the note.
The executive direction of SAD remains in the hands of Pedro Magalhães, son of VÃtor Magalhães, the president of the club and SAD until the members approve the sale of the majority of the capital to BKFC at the extraordinary general meeting on May 31, 2025.
Following this decision, the North American fund invested 10 ME in infrastructure, which is being expanded, as a result of the construction of the academy and the project for a new stadium, and 5.8 ME in the main football team.
