Filipe Coelho demands more from Casa Pia’s “front guys”

Date:

NPreviewing Saturday’s match, the Goose coach praised the defensive organization of his team, which in the previous round, against Sporting (2-0 defeat), saw a sequence of two games without conceding goals interrupted – Alpendorada (1-0), in the Portuguese Cup, and Estrela da Amadora (2-0), in the I League – and challenged the offensive sector to replicate that success, scoring goals that could translate into victories.

“We have confidence in everyone we have to play, but the truth is that the guys at the front have to complete the good things we are doing at the back. We are all focused and trained for that”, he pointed out.

Although Casa Pia failed to score against Sporting, Filipe Coelho detects progress in the team and hopes to see it reflected in the achievement of points in order to obtain the “calmness” he has been looking for since the beginning of the season.

“It’s obvious that adding points is always better and without a doubt we need them, because the season needs to be calmer, and we’re going to achieve that tranquility. This is done with work and quality”, he maintained.

The coach of the Lisbon team reinforced the importance of gaining points in the I League due to the competitive break that follows, due to commitments from the national teams and the dispute in the fourth round of the Portuguese Cup and will interrupt the championship for three weeks, remembering the important victory over Estoril Praia (2-1), just before the last stop, in September.

“Winning now is as important as if the championship didn’t stop and had no interruptions. It’s obvious that we always remember good recent memories, the game with Estoril brought this victory before the last FIFA break that existed”, he stated.

Filipe Coelho took the opportunity to comment on Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent decision to announce the end of his international career with the Portuguese national team, praising the importance of the current Al Nassr player for the country’s status and affirmation in sporting and social terms.

“I think that, if he understands that his time has come, we have to respect and say that he is an unavoidable figure in our country, not only in sport, but also culturally, he is a global figure. It is a source of pride for us, the Portuguese, to have someone who represented and exponentiated the name of Portugal throughout the world”, declared the coach of Pina Manique’s team.

Casa Pia, 17th and second to last placed, with seven points, will face Alverca, 10th, with 11, on Saturday, at 6:00 pm, at the FC Alverca Stadium, in a match that will be refereed by Sérgio Guelho, from the Guarda association.
