FC Porto enforces fan ban against Académico de Viseu

Date:

THE FC Porto will comply with the ban on fan groups when hosting Académico de Viseu, on Wednesday, in the quarter-finals of the Football League Cup, the club said.

In a note published on the club’s official website on Friday, FC Porto confirmed compliance with the sanction of a game, which covers the areas of Estádio do Dragão, in Porto, designated for organized groups of Super Dragões and Colectivo Ultras 95 fans.

The club also assured that it will contact members with annual seats in the sectors covered and fans who purchased tickets for these locations, to refund the amount corresponding to the game, under terms and deadlines to be announced in due course.

The ban resulted from a disciplinary process by the Disciplinary Board of the Portuguese Football Federation, relating to incidents in the stands during the Sporting-FC Porto match, on the fourth round of the 2025/26 edition of the I League, on August 30, 2025, at the José de Alvalade Stadium, in Lisbon.

At the moment of FC Porto’s first goal, in a match that the ‘dragons’ would win 2-1, glass broke in the guardrail in the area where the visiting fans were, on the top floor of the stand, which ended up hitting the Leon fans who were below, with 17 of them being injured.

FC Porto will face Académico de Viseu, counting for the quarter-finals of the League Cup, next Wednesday, starting at 8:30 pm, at Estádio do Dragão, in Porto.
