THE Arouca coach, Vítor Severino, today anticipated a “difficult” and strategically demanding encounter against Famalicão, at the opening of the 11th round of the I Football League, highlighting the opponent’s individual talent and offensive organization.
“It’s a team with a lot of individual talent and, collectively, with very specific ‘timings’, especially in offensive terms”, observed the coach, considering that Famalicão’s characteristics require “a different strategic response” to that which the Arouquense team has presented in recent games.
Without giving up the identity he intends to implement, Vítor Severino defended the importance of maintaining possession of the ball and valuing the talent of his players, but also of knowing how to manage the moments of the match on Friday.
“It’s knowing how to manage timings so that, at the right moment, we can attack the space or retreat. This is the maturity that the team has been building”, he explained, expressing confidence in his players’ ability to “dismantle the problem” and play to win.
Regarding the proximity of a break in the championship, for team commitments, the coach rejected that it could cause any discomfort for the group, which he considered to be going through a positive phase.
“I’m really enjoying working at Arouca because I have a group that works hard and well”, he stated, believing that the break will allow us to consolidate the game model and provide some rest for the players, which is also important for the team’s growth.
Puche and Pedro Santos, injured, are the ‘wolves’ absences for the game.
Arouca, fifth placed, with 20 points, visits Famalicão, 11th, with 10, on Friday, at 8:45 pm, at the Municipal Stadium, in Vila Nova de Famalicão, in a game that will be refereed by Gustavo Correia, from the Porto association.
