Benfica doesn’t stay for Samuel Dahl. The four other renovations in the pipeline

Date:

THE This Friday, Benfica concluded the extension of Samuel Dahl’s contract, until June 2031 (the previous one ended in 2029), with the corresponding salary increase. However, he does not intend to stop there, and, according to this Saturday’s edition of the newspaper A Bola, he has four other renewals in the pipeline.

They are Samuel Soares, Anatoliy Trubin, Gianluca Prestianni and Andreas Schjelderup, players that Marco Silva considers important for the immediate future of the Reds, a circumstance that led the management led by Rui Costa to accelerate negotiations, with the expectation that all these agreements can be finalized in a relatively short time.

The most urgent situation, you can read, is that of Gianluca Prestianni, who, at 20 years of age, is already having what is the most productive sporting season of his entire career (ten goals and six assists after 17 games), which has meant that he has started to be followed with greater attention by some of the biggest clubs in European football.

The Argentine international, remember, has a contract valid until June 2029, and is ‘shielded’ by a termination clause worth 100 million euros. However, the eagles prefer not to take risks, so the dialogue continues ‘full steam’ between all parties involved, so that an understanding is possible.

However, we must not forget that Andreas Schjelderup ends his contract at the end of next season (that is, in 2028), and has not yet responded to the proposal presented to him, which would increase the term of this connection until 2031 and would earn him, approximately, 18 million euros in wages over time.

In goal, Samuel Soares has been the starting bet and will see his status duly recognized. However, José Mourinho’s successor does not forget Anatoliy Trubin, his ‘number 2’, in whom he has total confidence and who has even motivated a ‘fierce’ public defense on his part, just over a week ago.

“When I see, one day, that the cover of a newspaper is “Trubin for sale”, it seems like we are talking about merchandise. For now, it is news… I don’t know if we will renew, if it will be sold in a few years or not, but it is news that seems harsh to me for a player who has not done any harm to anyone, who has behaved very professionally whenever he has been at Benfica, regardless of whether he plays very well or less well”, he shot.

Vangelis Pavlidis is now safe

The situation of Vangelis Pavlidis is very different, a player with whom Benfica also tried to renew, having, instead, closed the process with a mere salary increase, maintaining the contract’s validity period (that is, June 2029) and the termination clause (worth 100 million euros).

Indeed, the latest information from Greece point out that the 27-year-old striker’s salary has increased by something like 50%, to more than three million euros per year, making him, in this way, the highest paid player in the entire squad under Marco Silva.
