THE Sporting de Braga coach, Franclim Carvalho, today called up young Flinto Costa for the game at the Danish stronghold of Aarhus, on Thursday, in the third round of the league phase of the Football Conference League.
The 19-year-old winger was the Arsenal coach’s option in the last two games, both with Famalicão, for the League Cup (defeat after the penalty shoot-out) and then for the championship (3-0 victory), and is now making his debut in European match squads.
Out of those chosen, due to gastric problems, was the Spanish central defender Sergio Barcia, starter in the last three matches, as well as Niakaté and Gabriel Silva, who are recovering from injuries.
The Minho team trained today in Braga and, in the afternoon, will head to Denmark, where, at 7:20 pm (Lisbon time), the press conference to preview the match will take place with the coach and a player, at Cepheus Park, in Randers, where the match will be played.
Sporting de Braga, 16th placed, with three points, and Aarhus, 26th, with one, will face each other at 5:45 pm on Thursday, in a game that will be refereed by the German Florian Badstübner.
