Rui Borges and maturity. What Tiago Fernandes and Altimira said

Date:

THE Sporting travels to London to visit Shakhtar Donetsk’s borrowed home, in a duel counting for the fourth round of the single league phase of the Champions League, at a time when it is going through a turbulent time.

After confirming Rui Borges’ departure from coaching, Tiago Fernandes will be in charge of the Lions team in this match, which will take place this Tuesday, at 5:45 pm (Mainland Portugal time), at Stamford Bridge.

Before that, the coach of team B gave his preview, accompanied by Sergi Altimira, in the press room at the Chelsea Stadium, in London, this Monday afternoon, from 7pm, where he addressed the topic of Rui Borges and the experience as Sporting’s caretaker.

“Eight years have passed, the similarities are that it is, coincidence or not, the same week that I travel to London to follow Sporting, I think I am more aware, experienced, I learned from some mistakes and from my journey, passing through other clubs too, I am more prepared, as is normal. I’m at Sporting, a great club, I want to do my best, I feel prepared for tomorrow’s game, to help Sporting and tomorrow will be an important game, the difference is really the age and maturity I have, and I want us to have a great game and a good result”, revealed the interim coach of the lions.

“First of all, I would like to say a few words to Rui Borges and the entire staff. The entire group and Sporting are grateful for everything he has done these years and this season. I would also like to say that we are all together to support him and to win tomorrow”, said Altimira.
