THE Sporting’s bad form, with two defeats in the last two games, continues to give a lot to talk about and generate a lot of opinions. Bruno Sá, defeated candidate in the last elections for the presidency of the green and whites, took to his social networks to leave a somewhat corrosive note on this subject.
In a publication made via the social network Instagram, the businessman criticized the fact that Rui Borges was being used as a “scapegoat” for this negative phase. Bruno Sá emphasizes that the coach is not solely responsible for the situation and points the finger at the planning of the season, which started with a remodeled squad and many departures.
“On the 9th round we are 9 points behind first place and, if Santa Clara scores today, we will fall to fourth. It would be easy to point the finger at the coach. That’s where the rope will break, as I warned in April, and just turn on the TV today. But, for those who are more attentive, Rui Borges IS NOT THE ONLY RESPONSIBLE. There is a lot to explain since Jamor”, the businessman began by writing, recalling the defeat in the Portuguese Cup final with the Torreense.
“The problem arose in the summer. In an unprecedented market, half the team was changed at once. Captain Hjulmand, Trincão, Pedro Gonçalves, Diomande, Quenda and Morita left. Ten players came in and more than 120 million euros were spent. Young players, who need time to reach the quality of those who left. There was a lack of immediate solutions and developed players, as they had already been lacking in seasons full of injuries”, he stressed.
“Whoever decided this reason must be held responsible. There is no point in making the coach the scapegoat for poor planning. It seems that it only served to clean up Amorim’s legacy. The problem is deeper, and the fans are no longer distracted! Today, at the SAD AG, a new raise for the president is being voted on. Don’t be distracted. Sporting belongs to the partners!”, concluded Bruno Sá.
Dias Ferreira talks about “joint maneuver”
This Monday afternoon, and in statements to the Sport at the MinuteDias Ferreira, a former Sporting director, highlighted that, in his opinion, Rui Borges is capable of continuing as technical command of the green and whites.
“In my opinion, he has the conditions to continue. He is the same coach who was already a champion, who did what he did last year in the Champions League. This year he has also played two games in the Champions League that were successful. Therefore, I cannot attribute all the blame to him, because, if the coach is good for some things, he is also good for others. But the problem is certainly not just him. When I was inside, I knew what it was like and whether it was or wasn’t. Now, as I am outside, there is a lot something I don’t know about. And the information I have, for me, is trustworthy and reliable, so I think this is all something very designed to bring Rui Borges down”, said the former Leonine leader.
