Benfica has already set a price to sell Daniel Banjaqui, it is said in England

Date:

Daniel Banjaqui is, this Saturday, once again, a topic of conversation in England, due to the increasing ‘harassment’ he has been receiving from some of the biggest clubs in European football, even though, at 18 years of age, he has only played six games for Benfica’s main team (with one assist in between).

The portal TEAMtalk writes that the European and world under-17 champion has interested parties, above all, in His Majesty’s Lands, where his evolution has been monitored, hand in hand, by clubs such as Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, Newcastle, Tottenham and Brighton, with a view to a possible attack.

The right-back also has a market in Germany (where he is associated with Borussia Dortmund and Leipzig), Italy (where he will be on the agenda of Juventus, AS Roma and Internazionale) and Spain (where he has attracted interest from Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid and Real Sociedad), although no concrete proposal has reached the Estádio da Luz.

The management led by Rui Costa believes in the potential of the young promise and intends for him to continue to evolve under the orders of Marco Silva. Even so, adds the same publication, it has already made it known that it will be willing to open negotiations for values between 35 and 40 million euros.

Daniel Banjaqui renewed half a year ago

Born in Lisbon, Daniel Banjaqui arrived at Benfica in 2018, from Real Massamá, and went through the various youth levels, before José Mourinho gave him the chance to debut for the main team, on December 17, 2025, in the victory over Farense, at the São Luís Stadium, by 0-2, which earned access to the quarter-finals of the Portuguese Cup.

Aware of its potential, the incarnated structure soon began negotiations with a view to renewing the contract between both parties, which would come to fruition on April 2nd, that is, just over a week after celebrating its 18th anniversary, opening the door to a longer contract, in light of FIFA regulations.

The Portuguese-Guinean would commit to the Eagles until June 2031, becoming ‘shielded’ by a termination clause worth 80 million euros, that is, a value much higher than that which, in England, is being seen as the minimum for a possible transfer.

Injury delays affirmation at Benfica

Rumors of growing foreign interest in Daniel Banjaqui are growing rapidly, even though, at the moment, he is in the care of Benfica’s clinical department, due to a muscle injury in his right thigh, contracted while playing for the under-21 national team.

The right-back has not played, moreover, with an eagle on his chest since September 16th, when he played 90 minutes of the victory achieved on the trip to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, over AC Milan (from Ruben Amorim and Gonçalo Ramos), by 0-2, in a match counting for the second round of the league phase of the Europa League.
