“Not everything was good in the first two games, not everything is bad”

THE Famalicão’s interim coach, Ricardo Silva, assumed today the need to react to the defeat against Sporting de Braga, seeking to return to good performances in the reception to Arouca, in the 11th round of the I Football League.

“It was, in fact, a negative result and a negative performance on our part in the last game, but the week allowed us to work on things, correct others and return a little to the record before the game in Braga”, said the coach, in preview of Friday’s match.

Ricardo Silva, who took charge of the Minho team two weeks ago, highlighted that the team is in a “process of natural growth” and considered that the defeat in Braga (3-0) does not call into question the work carried out.

“Not everything was good in the first two games, not everything is bad. The players are aware of this and continue to believe that what led them to win the first two games is the way forward”, he maintained.

Regarding Arouca, which has won four consecutive victories since the arrival of Vítor Severino, the coach highlighted the defensive consistency of the opponent, who has not yet conceded a goal in the championship under the command of the new coach.

“With the arrival of Vítor Severino, they have presented themselves as a very competent team in all aspects. They haven’t conceded goals in League games since he joined, they always score and that certainly constitutes a challenge for us”, he acknowledged.

The coach also valued the return to the Municipal Stadium, almost a month after the last home match, showing confidence in a positive response from the players in front of the fans, in a match for which he will not be able to count on the suspended Rodrigo Pinheiro.

Asked about continuity in technical command, Ricardo Silva admitted that there could be a definition after the meeting with Arouca, before the competitive break.

“The new cycle that will begin could be with Ricardo as coach, with a new coach or with Ricardo returning to his role as assistant coach. This is not defined, but I believe that the next few days will have a definitive answer for everyone”, he explained.

Famalicão, 11th placed, with 10 points, receives Arouca, fifth, with 20, on Friday, at 8:45 pm, at the Estádio Municipal de Famalicão, in a match on the 11th round of the I League, which will be refereed by Gustavo Correia, from AF Porto.
