THE The Arbitration Council of the Portuguese Football Federation announced, in the last few hours, the referee teams for the four quarter-final matches of the League Cup. If the referees for the Sporting and FC Porto games were already known, this Tuesday the referees for the Benfica and Sporting de Braga matches were made public.
Starting with this Tuesday’s duel at the Alvalade Stadium, Iancu Vasilica, from the Vila Real Football Association, will judge the duel between Sporting and Marítimo, which starts at 8:15 pm. The VAR role will fall to Cláudia Ribeiro.
On Wednesday, Sérgio Guelho from the Guarda Football Association, will be present at Estádio do Dragão to referee FC Porto’s reception to Académico de Viseu (8:30 pm). The VAR will be Manuel Oliveira.
For Thursday, the day these quarter-finals end, two games are reserved. From 6:45 pm, João Gonçalves, from the Porto Football Association, will judge the Minho derby between Sporting de Braga and Famalicão, with the role of varsity falling to Tiago Martins.
Later, and with kick-off scheduled for 8:45 pm, the meeting between Benfica and Gil Vicente, at Estádio da Luz, will have José Bessa, from the Porto Football Association, as the match referee. The VAR will be Rui Silva.
