JJoão Pedro Murilo, known in the football world simply as JP, joined the ranks of Casa Pia one day after the very heavy home defeat to Benfica, by a significant 7-0, counting for the second round of the 1st Portuguese Football League.
At just 21 years old, JP played nine games this season for Vasco da Gama, coached by the Portuguese Pedro Emanuel, being the club where he graduated and made his senior debut, with just one transfer to Avaí in 2025.
He is the seventh reinforcement of the ‘gansos’, after goalkeeper André Gomes (ex-Benfica), midfielders Selvi Clua (ex-Almería) and Gabi (ex-Felgueiras), and forwards Rochinha (ex-Famalicão), Alassana Jatta (ex-Notts County) and Henrique Araújo (ex-Benfica).
Casa Pia, which still has no points in the 1st Football League standings, following defeats against Marítimo (1-0) and Benfica, visits the Estádio Cidade de Barcelos to face Gil Vicente, on Monday, at 8:15 pm, in a third round game.
